Spring Valley Voter Records Geography
Spring Valley is an unincorporated Clark County town. Many local mailing addresses use “Las Vegas,” yet that postal label does not move the voter record into a City of Las Vegas office. Clark County’s registrar is the custodian for local voter records and district files. This geography is a useful guardrail when a ZIP code, city label, precinct, or district name seems to point in two directions.

Nevada’s public voter rolls reveal a defined set of civic facts. Clark County verifies name, residence address unless suppressed, public voter identification number, party, precinct or district, registration status, and participation or turnout information. Nevada registers voters by party under NRS 293.518. A field printed on a registration application is not automatically public merely because the registrar collected it.

A participation record is not a ballot record. It may show that someone voted in an election, but the secret ballot prevents it from showing how that person voted. That distinction is vital when reading a Spring Valley voter record for family research, civic analysis, or district outreach.
Private Spring Valley Registration Fields
NRS 293.558 draws the main line between public and confidential voter registration data. A Social Security number, driver-license or state-identification number, and an email address supplied for the election process are not public records. Download Spring Valley Voter Rolls
Clark County publishes Voter List Data Files as free ZIP downloads without a login. The files are refreshed weekly, generally on Monday. They use ASCII comma-delimited data and are too large for a normal spreadsheet import, so the county recommends database software. This is the open-list channel, distinct from Registered Voter Services.
Researchers can select an All file, which includes active and inactive registrations, or an Active-only file. Geography choices include countywide, congressional, legislative, county commission, regents, school, municipal, and special districts. Precinct walking lists provide names and addresses, except for voters whose details are confidential. Because Spring Valley is not an incorporated city, a district or precinct selection may be more useful than a city label.

Spring Valley Voter Status Changes
“Active” does not mean a person votes often. It means election mail has not come back as undeliverable and the department believes the address is current. “Inactive” means address evidence suggested a move and confirmation mail did not settle the issue. An eligible inactive Clark County voter may still vote, but an unconfirmed address will not receive a mail ballot automatically.
Clark County’s recent actions show why inactive and cancelled cannot be used as synonyms. After November 5, 2024, the county cancelled 138,682 registrations that had been inactive before the 2022 general election and had not voted since. On March 10, 2026, it separately moved 104,945 registrations to inactive status under the National Voter Registration Act and NRS 293.530. Cancellation can follow prolonged inactive status and no voting across two federal elections.

The 2024 candidate guide lists a standard data file at one cent per name, capped at $100, plus a $30 download or media charge. A custom file is listed at $130 plus programming hours, and a USB adds $30. One voter-registration application copy is listed at $1 uncertified or $3 certified. These figures should be confirmed at 702-455-2944 before ordering. The research found no party-only eligibility rule or commercial-use attestation, so none should be assumed.
Use voter records lawfully. Public access does not permit stalking, threats, or harassment; Nevada criminal law addresses stalking in NRS 200.575 and harassment in NRS 200.571.
Protect Spring Valley Voter Addresses
Two forms of protection operate at different levels. Under NRS 293.558, a voter can ask in writing to withhold a residence address and phone from public voter records. Nevada’s Confidential Address Program, or CAP, is broader. Eligible survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, trafficking, or stalking enroll through a certified advocate and receive a substitute address plus mail forwarding.
CAP registration records are confidential under NRS 217.462 through 217.471. The program can be reached at 775-684-5707, 888-432-6189, or NVCAP@dcfs.nv.gov. A blank address in a Spring Valley voter roll may therefore reflect a lawful safeguard. Do not infer, publish, or try to rebuild a protected residence from other records.
Historical Spring Valley Election Records
Clark County’s Historical Election Documentation offers scanned material from 1910 through 1996. The county also describes historical election information from 1909 onward and Statements of Vote from 1992 onward. The collection can add election context, but each item must be checked before it is called a voter-name register or poll book.
NRS 293.391 permits inspection of signature rosters and tally lists after they are deposited. Voted ballots are generally not open without election-contest authority, and statutory election material must be retained for at least 22 months. Those rules do not prove that every individual register survives for every year. Spring Valley’s advisory-board era also began much later than Clark County’s election archive, so older scans may organize the area by precinct, township, or county rather than by the modern town name.
For family or community research, begin with the archive’s own label and date. Then ask the Election Department whether the cited series is still held and what inspection method applies. That method respects both the historical record and the privacy boundary around current registration.
